Description
The WECO Backwashing Filter with Katalox Light® is a specialized Point-of-Entry (POE) system designed to purify municipal and well water. Made in Germany, Katalox Light is a lightweight filtration media composed of manganese dioxide (MnO₂) coated onto naturally mined ZEOSORB. Its high surface area allows it to effectively remove particulate matter down to three microns, including Total Suspended Solids (TSS), turbidity, and sediments.
Katalox Light also possesses oxidation properties, making it ideal for reducing levels of iron, manganese, and hydrogen sulfide. The active surface coating oxidizes and precipitates these soluble contaminants, which are then flushed away during backwashing. Additionally, the media effectively reduces lead, copper, radium, uranium, and other heavy metals and radionuclides. To maintain optimal performance, Katalox-Light typically requires backwashing every 1 to 5 days.
Controller features include:
Offering versatility, the WECO backwashing filter can be utilized independently or in conjunction with other filtration processes. Its adaptability is further enhanced by its availability in various sizes, accommodating different backwash flow rates inherent in plumbing infrastructure.
